Faerie and fantasy art event


This November 26th 27th 28th, the Fantasy, Faerie & Visionary Arts Event returns to Dartmouth. Following last year’s tremendous success, it promises to be bigger and better than before with an extra day added by popular demand… An exhibition event fast earning a reputation for being the place to collect original art, sculpture and collectables from some of the world’s most famous fantasy artists and artisans… heirlooms of the future!


The weekend begins with a celebration


of performing Arts… The Fantasy Masquerade Ball, this year’s theme - ‘Journeys’ how folklore, music & dance travelled from Arabia, across Europe, to the shores of the Celtic Britain. A night of theatrical entertainment featuring wild gypsy musicians ‘Braga Tanga’, faerie-tale harpist Elizabeth-Jane Baldry… beautiful classical ballerinas Chantelle Shortland and Kate Culahan lead us on a dreamlike voyage, to join haunting dancers Dryad and Wild Fox, while intoxicating Salome thrills and Elfic amuses with classic slapstick!


Art Weekend Guest of Honour Artists 2010 confirmed to date are Surrealist fantasy artist Josephine Wall; British visionary artist & folklorist Marc Potts; Graphic novel artist Dave Kendall (Magic the Gathering , World of Warcraft); ‘How to’ fantasy book illustrator Linda Ravenscroft; vampire & horror artist Ian Daniels; fantasy illustrator Neil Geddes- Ward; childrens fantasy book illustrator Julia Jeffrey; fantasy jewellery sculptor & film/thetatre costume designer Kelly Martinez, with over 30 more internationally collected artists & artisans!

Throughout the weekend continuous art demonstrations from Josephine Wall, Marc Potts (goblins & elementals), Dave Kendall (faeries a la graphic novel), Sharon Hurst (watercolour fantasy), Gwen Davies (the art of mendhi henna), Ella Risebrow (elves and the spirit realm), Ian Southwood (creating miniature trees)…. ALL this included in the ticket price, with everything suitable for children of all ages!


It’s a chance to buy everything, from original art and sculpture, books, prints, jewellery, art clocks, children’s costumes, films, giftware and collectables- all direct from the creators and artists… perfect unique Christmas shopping!
