Blueriver Cottages – the letting agent dedicated to great service at a fair price

blueriver Cottages, started by Phil Hayward in 2008, is the newest lettings agent in Dartmouth – but it doesn’t stop them from being one of the best.

Offering a unique, affordable and friendly service from its Anzac Street offices, Phil is confident that Blueriver offers the best service for both landlords and tenants. One of the few agents in the South Hams to offer both long-term and holiday lettings, Blueriver know that excellent customer service is the key to their continued success.

‘I am a landlord myself, so I understand all the challenges that face them,’ said Phil, an ex-Royal Marines Drum Major who first moved to Dartmouth in 1991. ‘We make sure we cater for all our clients’ needs, both landlords and tenants. We have a fantastic system which allows our property owners whether they’re holiday or residential to log on via our website to check out their accounts, 24/7. Our computerised system enables us to change the nature of the letting for our clients, so a landlord can decide they would like to change from holiday to long-term letting at the touch of a button’

The company is also using innovative marketing techniques online to make sure its property owners with holiday lettings maximize their booking potential. ‘We are listed on some of the web’s most popular holiday lettings websites,’ said Phil, who also has experience working for large, blue chip organisations. ‘And are about to be listed on the world’s largest self catering portal, so our landlords know we will be getting them the greatest exposure.’

And Phil said that he was proud of Blueriver’s simple and transparent pricing policy – utilizing its high-quality website: www.bluerivercottages.co.uk.

‘All our prices – which are the lowest in Dartmouth – are listed on our website so a landlord can easily choose the service and price which is best for them. We know our prices are fair and are happy to shout them from the rooftops!’

And Blueriver also has an enviable reputation for looking after its tenants. ‘Everyone has had to rent at

some point in their life and so have we, so we make sure any problems with properties are solved as quickly as possible,’ he said. ‘Our tenants trust us to respond quickly and efficiently to resolve any issues. It’s in everyone’s best interests to do so.’

Anna Warrington joined Phil this June in the role of Office Administrator and he said she had been a fantastic addition to the Blueriver team. ‘Anna has experience of working in property in London,’ he said. ‘Since she has joined all our clients have been impressed by her efficiency and superb customer service, we work very well together it’s a pleasure to go into work each day.’
