Days off!
This is Pitchcare’s Sharon Taylor doing what she does best. Well, second best actually as she also pays our wages! We’d asked her to do a
‘Days Off’ piece for the mag and all we got was this. But, as this is all she does with her spare time, I suppose it says it all. As they say ‘every picture tells a story!’
Peter Marron gets Lancs Testimonial
Old Trafford’s long- serving head groundsman, and Pitchcare contributor, Peter Marron has been granted a testimonial by Lancashire.
It is widely accepted
that Peter has produced some of the best wickets in international and domestic cricket in recent years and is one of the most popular and well- known figures at Old Trafford.
There will be a small number of fundraising events in 2006 including a gala dinner in July. England all- rounder Andrew Flintoff, who is also enjoying a benefit with Lancashire this year, has offered his support to Peter in whatever way he can. The idea of a benefit for Peter was recommended
to the Lancashire committee by the Reverend Malcolm Lorimer and Paul Beck, chief executive of official club sponsor, LBM. Paul Beck said: “Peter is one of the unsung heroes
at Old Trafford and has made a considerable contribution to some of this ground’s finest sporting moments by producing such great wickets. I am delighted that the committee have seen fit to grant Peter this honour.”
I am sure all Pitchcare members echo those sentiments.
