a hierarchy of folders to store bookmarks in, but this is not necessary. When you want to visit the webpage at any point in the future you go to the Favorites menu and choose the required entry from the list.
Because of the way
websites are published and displayed there are no official guidelines or control over standards. When browsing different websites you will very quickly find that there is little consistency between them, the size of the text being one bugbear. There is a way to increase or decrease the size of (most of) the text. To change the size go to the ‘View’ menu, click on ‘Text size’ and change to the size that you would like. This does have the side effect of making text larger or smaller for every site you visit, but you can reset it back to medium when you have finished viewing the current page. I’m sure that I’ve given you a good enough introduction on how to use your web browser in this final instalment of the series, which I hope you have found useful. I’ve just been told the editors want me to publish a ‘Tools of the Trade’ segment so look out for that starting in your next issue.
Days OFF!
... or what Pitchcare readers get up to out of office hours
DAVE MEARS, Joint MD of
Highspeed-Course Care: One of my great loves is being in the countryside and living here in a Yorkshire village, there’s plenty of it! The other is mountain biking and, having invested in a decent bike a few years back, I can combine the two! There is so much wonderful scenery (and off-road tracks) locally to where my wife and I live and we particularly love the Yorkshire Dales. The rugged landscape with its limestone walls, waterfalls and rivers is an absolute delight at any time of the year. When it comes to food and drink, there are plenty of pubs to plan your route around too! We are fortunate in having our two grown up sons living fairly close, so family life is important too. Our three grandchildren bring me down to earth as we embark on all sorts of play activities. Barbecues in the garden are really enjoyed by all. (That’s another ‘days off ’ activity; gardening). I have been seen with big golf umbrellas over the barbecue to finish cooking as the rain came, but then, that's the fun of a British summer! Thank goodness for gazebos!
