World Cup fever again!

HAVE to say that every one of the Pitchcare team is looking forward to this summer’s World Cup being held in Germany. The signs look good (kiss of death) for England to do well, especially if key players can escape injury. In the event that England don’t make it through to the final we are going to ‘support’ Brazil. Hopefully it’ll be a ‘hands-on’ experience. In the interest of sexual equality we also publish a photo of one of the Brazilian players!

That’s not in my ‘Od’ job description!

HERE at Pitchcare we fully understand the trials and tribulations of being a turfcare professional. You’re out in all weathers, that bloody mower has broken down again just when you needed it most, the management and players don’t appreciate your efforts and, worst of all, when you’ve finished for the day, your wife has a ‘little job’ for you to do at home! So spare a thought for Od, a circus dwarf from Thailand who, in the course of his day job, got swallowed by a yawning hippopotamus named Hilda. Reports stated that Od had bounced off a trampoline straight into Hilda’s mouth and the hippo’s gagging instincts caused it to swallow. (No jokes please). But at least the poor little chap got applauded for his efforts!

Our Laurence becomes a Saga-lout!

IT’S hard to believe, isn’t it. Our very own Laurence (writing) Gale has clocked up 50 years on this mortal coil. Now all he’s got to look forward to is a stream of mailshots from those nice people at Saga (how do they know?) In recognition of this milestone here are a few more of those quirky little mistakes that we affectionately call Laurencisms... it’s been a bumper month!

...provide the impetus to make the club successful again in the forcible future.

Colin has over the years also been heavily involved in raising money for the Loins Club.

Most natural soils are venerable to major changes.

All of his squares are unique in that they were all constructed to the same specification when constructed in 2002.

Simon Hutton, this year’s host, is one of the country’s smallest turf producers.

Sorry Loz, this photo was just too good not to print! ” Forward
