Came with a cab, which may have influenced the judges, however special feature was an electronic gear shift and high lever controls for easy operation.

Operator comfort was also marked high (well it was February!). Drawbacks included tyre impressions left and turf ripped during turns plus a thin dipstick that bent easily when oil checked.

Model supplied offered a couple of impressive features, firstly a non-s

control, which proved very useful, given that the tractor was also supplied with a quick release bucket. Used the feaure when loading and failed to stall the engine when put under pressure. Second feature was the electronic speed adjuster. This meant that the speed required could be locked or adjusted up or down in small increments. Scored highly on comfort and operator visibility, lost marks on flimsy bonnet and awkward opening- would benefit from a gas ram opening system.

Load speed was slower, but the engine was the smallest of all the tractors supplied. The Dif, clutch and handbrake were situated too close together and it was quite easy to catch your heel when using the clutch. The front wheels seemed disproportionate to the tractor, hence the ripping of grass on a tight turn. Number plate position affected operator visibility when hooking up a trailer or machine on three point linkage.

Another articulating vineyard tractor, this time supplied in blue by Kilworth. Shares all the atributes of the Carroro and Ferrari models -a

as a central island that has to be stepped over, instead of a flat floor. It’s only a question of getting used to these different styled models though.
