Macquarie University’s postgraduate programmes in ICT are hosted by the Division of Information and Communication Sciences. This Division brings together the disciplines of Computing, Electronics, Mathematics and Physics and supports many world leading research teams, in areas like:

• Systems and Software Engineering • System Security • Photonics • Fibre Optics • Advanced and Quantum Computing • Natural Language Technology

The Division has a strong industry focus, maintaining relationships with major ICT companies including Compuware Asia-Pacific, CSC, Unisys, EMC, Nortel Networks and Microsoft. In collaboration with CSIRO, the Division helps business build innovative Internet services and technologies.

Programme

Master of Information Technology Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology Master of Commerce in Information Systems Technology + Master of IT

technologies of today. Students in Macquarie’s Information Technology programme have the flexibility to specialise in one of six distinct specialisations: Web Technologies, System Security, Software Engineering, Internetworking, Information Systems or ICT Management. Students can also generalise, by tailoring a programme from amongst a range of core knowledge and specialist units.

Admission

Programmes commence in March or July. Applicants need to have a strong skill in at least one programming language, as well as a degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75 in one of the following fields:

• A Bachelors degree in an ICT related discipline from a recognised university

• A Bachelors degree in a broader science or business discipline with a substantial practical or theoretical computing component

• A Graduate Diploma in an ICT discipline

• A Bachelors degree in any discipline with a minimum of three years technical or management work experience in an ICT field.
