Demands for “office-in-the- sky” on the rise

One of the leading avionics companies in Europe, Scandinavian Avionics, reports of growing interest in office-in-the-sky SATCOM systems. Hardy B. Truelsen, President and Sales

Director, commented: “During the last few years, we have experienced that office capabilities in the sky really have gained a footing with aircraft operators and owners around the world.” Recently, Scandinavian Avionics provided full certification and installation of a Thrane & Thrane AERO SB+ upgrade in a Falcon 2000 aircraft operated by business jet operator, Air Alsie. The AERO SB+ system replaced the existing AERO HSD+ system and added significant new capabilities to the aircraft, such as high speed Internet access in the cabin.

Air Alsie owner, Jens Østerlund Jensen explains the reason for the upgrade: “Airborne office capabilities are a must for many of our customers today, and if you wish to be at the forefront of the business, you have to meet the rising demands of your customers.” Scandinavian Avionics are exhibiting at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2010 on Stand 6A40.

Inspirational textiles

TISCA TIARA is presenting a new collection of carpets, seat cover and curtain fabrics at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2010. This new collection will allow airlines to fulfil the increased demand to differentiate themselves from their competitors. Another collection on display (which is available off-the-shelf) has been developed for customers who require fast delivery and short implementation schedules, while fulfilling demands for lower maintenance costs, easy handling, high durability and economical life-cycle costs.

TISCA TIARA will also showcase novel fabrics and carpets that will allow airlines to

reduce their operating costs immediately by lowering kerosene consumption and as a result become greener and more environmentally friendly.

Take control of your coffee taste

Monogram Systems – TIA Division has been in the business of designing and manufacturing aircraft galley inserts for over 40 years. During that time, TIA has evolved into one of the industry’s leading manufacturers of pour over coffee maker technology for aircraft use. The AirCoffee PX (patent pending) is designed to fit existing and future galley layouts. The AirCoffee PX coffee brewer is fully interchangeable with ATLAS standard rails, saving additional costs on retrofit programmes. This new brewer has an internal water tank that is filled by using bottled water and is therefore

separate from the aircraft water system. “The TIA pour-over technology has proven its reliability over thousands of hours in business aviation and cargo aircraft,” says George Stachowski, Director, airline sales and customer support at Monogram Systems – TIA Division. “In addition to its better tasting cup of coffee, this new coffee brewer is up to 5lbs lighter than existing units and is available in ATLAS and ARINC standards. The AirCoffee PX coffee brewer, along with the

new Wavejet AX microwave will be displayed at the Zodiac Aerospace Stand 7D50f.
