Imports. Estefan’s strong discipline and great respon- sibility soon led to him being promoted as the director of Bacardi’s Latin marketing department. His musical tal- ent at the Italian restaurant opened the door for more musical opportunities; his boss at Bacardi saw his tal- ent and hired him to play at a family party. This led to Estefan hiring a drummer and a conga player to form a band. Soon the band grew to nine members, which they called the Miami Latin Boys. The band played together at several events and local hot spots. During one event, the band met Gloria Fajardo and had her join the band as the lead singer. With a new sing- er, the band changed their name to the Miami Sound Machine and continued to play at local venues in Mi- ami. After several years, Fa- jardo and Estefan’s relation- ship grew into a romance that eventually led to mar- riage in 1978. By the 1980s, the Miami
Sound Machine was record- ing and grew quite popular. In 1986, the band made it to the top 10 of the pop charts with two songs from their album Prim- itive Love. The band’s fan base grew and drew in fans from all genres using their energetic vibe, smooth and gentle ballads. The band’s great success mo- tivated the creative Estefan to expand his growing music empire. Emilio Estefan’s genuine love and
passion for music led him to become a music producer and songwriter. With Estefan’s help, his wife Gloria worked on a solo career and continued to top the music charts. In 1991, Estefan es- tablished Crescent Moon Studios, a project that had been in the works for several years that included a studio complex with five audio control rooms, three recording areas and a component

can Dream. His book is filled with inspiring advice and many enter- taining stories on the life and career of Estefan. Estefan’s positive and inspirational outlook on life motivates his readers by guiding them with principles to establish
their own plans for success. Emilio Estefan has worked extreme-
ly hard and has focused himself on be- coming an accomplished human being. Estefan’s rags to riches story serves as an example to those who lack experi- ence and provides proof that life can be all that you make it to be. Estefan made a career out of something he truly en- joyed and was passionate about and has become a musical pioneer for many Latin artists. Although Estefan has ac- complished so much, there’s no telling what else he has up his sleeve. His-
