Cubicle chic
IGLOOS has developed its own line of cubicle sys- tems, which is has recently been used to complete some exciting projects including a 70’s Rollerdisco, a sophisticated restaurant, and a multi-storey YMCA building in the heart of London. The Cen-
tral London project at the YMCA involved re-de- signing an existing unisex washroom area on the 14th floor into separate male/female facilities, whilst overcoming the problematic drainage and plumbing connections and replacing baths with showers. The brief for the restaurant included keeping an industrial feel whilst creating a sleek, easy to maintain washroom. The design of the rooms made use of the high curved ceilings and exposed ventilation pipes with a seamless cubicle system with additional height. Hot pink cubicle doors with a wavy white pilaster were installed at the Rollerdisco, in keeping with the brief. To com- plement the disco atmosphere in the main hall a “disco ball” effect was created with a mirror mosaic effect surrounding the main vanity mirror.

The Pulsacoil BP
Gledhill Building Products has launched the PulsaCoil BP. The unit provides mains pres- sure hot water utilising off-peak electric and is specifically designed for use in new build apartments. The PulsaCoil BP, which comes in four different sizes, is designed for cost- effective, trouble-free installation and its ad- vanced construction ensures long-life. With the cylinder being an open vented thermal store, it does not require a pressure and tem- perature relief valve and subsequently does not need any discharge pipe work. The unit therefore overcomes Part G Building Regula- tions, which states that you cannot discharge an unvented cylinder into a soil pipe unless it can withstand high temperatures. Other benefits of the PulsaCoil BP include the fact that the immersion elements are situ- ated in the same primary water at all times and this water is not renewed so no scaling takes place, even in hard water areas. As the unit utilises the off-peak electricity supply it keeps the running costs for the householder down to a minimum. Also, the cylinder’s ad- vanced construction and primary store design means that no annual service is required.
