As part of our day at the show, we took some time out to visit our clients and see how things were going from an exhibitors’ per- spective. It was clear to see that the show was proving to be a roaring success, with the floods of visitors pouring in each day to ex- perience the show and its’ efforts to turn the UK con- struction industry into a forward-thinking, sustain- able hub of activity. The industry is now immersed in innovative technology and ecological product designs, all working to achieve the best. We caught up with a few fa- miliar and not-so-familiar faces after the show to ask how the event rounded off for them:

Schoeck

“We were again delighted by the volume and quality of enquiries at Ecobuild. Numbers were significantly up, even on last year and it is evident that sustainable design practices are a priority among the visitors. If I had to summarise I would say that the main observation made by those who came to our stand was that

‘I know control of thermal bridg- ing is necessary and Schöck’s ability to offer efficient thermal connectivity options between not just concrete-to-concrete, but con- crete-to-steel and steel-to-steel as well, proves a really attractive pack- age. Being able to actually see the products at the show really helps understand the concept.”

Michael Currier, Managing Director, Schöck Ltd.

Accsys

“Most of our visitors have already heard of Accoya®

to learn more about its benefits and other innovations such as Medite Tricoya®

which marks one

of the first true innovations in the wood composites industry in more than 30 years. As a leader in the timber industry, Accsys is deter- mined to offer the most reliable and sustainable wood products to our customers worldwide.”

Paul Clegg, Chief Executive Officer of Accsys.

material for the first time to the UK building industry. Archi- tects, builders and designers were all intrigued by our ‘wood re-invented’ and delighted to discover a viable al- ternative to tropical timber and toxic treated woods. Many of them had simply ceased using these environ- mentally damaging and unsustainable resources. Visitors got a real feel for Kebony on the stand-

it was installed in everything from flooring to table tops and walls and showed a viable use of our sustain- able natural material. Our exciting product is used with enthusiasm by architects across Europe - the world’s largest eco event for the building in- dustry was the perfect platform to spread the word even further.”
