Taylor Wimpey supporting British trade

Pilkington’s Tiles has been appointed as the sole supplier of ceramic wall and floor tiles for leading

house builder Taylor Wimpey Plc. Formed through the merger of George Wimpey and Tay- lor Woodrow in 2007, Taylor Wimpey built just over 10,000 homes in 2009. Pilkington’s will now supply all the ceramic tiles for every new home built by the company, in a move, which sees Taylor Wimpey supporting the British tile manu- facturing industry for at least two years. This agreement will enable Taylor Wimpey house buy- ers to benefit from a wide selection of innovative designs and finishes, with a range consisting of ceramic, porcelain, glass and natural stone tiles as well as mosaics. The tiles were carefully selected by Taylor Wimpey’s design team to ensure they reflect the current trends in interior design and meet the rigorous quality standards.

Joint Development Agreement

Sun Chemical and DSR have signed a Joint Development Agreement to further enhance the performance of DSR’s innovative SolaVeil product offering even greater results in reduc- ing energy usage and CO2 emissions for the built environment. SolaVeil when applied to windows significantly reduces Solar heat gain by over 80 per cent and UV by 99.9 per cent while allowing the maximum natural daylight to pass through into a building interior. Not only does this provide a better environment for working, learning and healing, but it also significantly reduces air-conditioning costs and lighting costs. The Joint Development Agreement is a commitment to continually evolve the material components of SolaVeil, which drive its performance. Planned new developments mean SolaVeil will have even a greater impact on solving climate change and energy issues associated with buildings.
