I love the getting together of pangalis and relatives and detest the exorbitant amount spent in lavish
weddings and the waste of food.
Ramanathan Adaikappan, MI
I love…
Everybody getting together for the wedding - differences are forgotten and everybody rallies together for
this joyous occasion.
I hate…
The lavishness of the weddings, the exorbitant dowry system - which I see as a colossal waste! I would
like to see Nagarathar men stand up for themselves and stub this practice. Only they can make a
difference!
Alamelu Vairavan, WI
I love…
Our practice of all couples /people blessing the married couple – a noteworthy tradition!
I hate…
Dowry. The practice of agreeing to all “terms and conditions” and later on complaining that it was
inadequate!
Unnamalai Venkatachalam, CA
I love…
The concept of arranged marriages. I really love the significance associated with each and every
“sadangu” in our weddings. Our forefathers have really given lot of forethought to each aspect of
the wedding and planned it really well.
And…
I don’t really see anything that I dislike.
Nachal Valliappan, PA
I love…
The hospitality of our weddings, the getting together of kith and kin and us striving to keep our
traditions alive.
I hate…
The practice of dowry – unfortunately, this is only becoming worse over the years.
Malar Narayanan, TX
