May 98 - Membership Promotion Month
The Regional Secretaries, Youth Committee, Web site and Membership Promotion Committee, and
Executive Committee members will be calling non-members during May. Please help them.
Youth Committee
In order to give Nagarathar youth an opportunity to develop leadership skills, a youth committee has been
formed (the list is on the back cover). This is a new venture and the success of this program depends on the
involvement of its committee members. They will contribute to NANAL, communicate with other youth
members, and organize youth camps and entertainment activities during Regional Picnics and National
Meetings. They will come up with new ideas to improve the understanding of Nagarathar culture and
friendship with other Nagarathar youth. We appreciate the special interest taken by Dr. P. Chockalingam,
FL to identify various committee members.
It was also decided to have Youth Activities Coordinators who will help the youth in their activities,
encourage them to come up with new ideas and promote them. We thank the following that have agreed to
take up these responsibilities.
New Web Site - www. achi.org
With the popular demand from our members, it was decided to have a new web site. After considering the
numerous suggestions, the current and the past EC members chose the name www.achi.org- this is the
cyber medium for Nagarathar Sangam of North America. This site was founded on popular demand from
NSNA members to have an electronic presence in the ever-popular World Wide Web. Achi.Org is
sponsored in part by Dr. P.Chockalingam and Mrs. Mallika Chockalingam of Florida and we thank them
for their support. A Web Committee (List is on the back of NANAL) has been formed who will advise the
web masters for site content. Do check this web-site out and please inform your Nagarathar friends around
the world about our new site. Please send your suggestions to webadmin@achi.org or talk to one of the
Web Committee members.
