Turner said: “CWT's air volume has continued to

insisting on green/ethical standards for preferred suppliers 35% outstripping this rise. The make up of our bookings has

charity/community/outreach projects 21% of our bookings, with rail and hotels totalling 33% and
other 8% 22% respectively.”
“Typically TMC's were considered air experts and
80% of volume would have been air transactions, this
change is a result of the appetite for one-stop shopping
among corporate customers,” he added.
One of the more interesting set of results came from
the regional activity questions, where agents posted the
biggest increase in bookings in the past 12 months and
in the next 12 months for travel within the UK, both at
26% and 21% respectively (1:10 & 1:11).
Vandersluys said: “It is Interesting to note that
there is an increase in travel domestically. My own
experience shows that a number of clients in the US
are encouraging colleagues to meet at video
conferencing centres in the UK to communicate with
colleagues globally rather than the whole team
stepping on a plane.”
However, she predicted that this would be a
temporary solution.
Not surprisingly, the response to question 1:12 was
unequivocal – a massive 90% of respondents said they
felt their clients were more interested in oil prices than
the environment. However, despite this 24% of
respondents said their clients were more concerned
about the environment than this time last year, with
11% responding less and 65% the same. L52159
