welcome! SUCCESS!

The Wembley national

indoor hockey finals were a rousing start to what is a pretty busy year of hockey. Congratulations to all concerned – the crowds turned out in great numbers, the teams provided some exciting hockey, the organisation seemed good to me (despite a very tight schedule not helped by two penalty shootouts and an impromptu floor repair) and from what little chance I had to mix with the fans, a pretty good time was had by all. By the time you read this the indoor World Cup will be over and hopefully you followed the events in Poland via our website. After that there is a busy time ahead – EHL, playoffs, HA Cup, Champions Trophies and the Europeans (not necessarily in that order). We will try to get to as many events as possible to keep you informed, in the first instance at least, through pushhockey.co.uk. Speaking of the website we’ve put a lot of effort into web development in the last year or so, including integration with Twitter and the all-conquering Facebook. We’ve done that because we reckon this is the best way of keeping our readers, and others, up to date in between issues of this magazine. Nevertheless the mag is still the core of our business and we see it as the perfect medium for presenting great photographs and the more in-depth, considered pieces of journalism which, in our opinion, make the world of hockey much more interesting. At the risk of repeating myself, we are particularly pleased with the variety of voices we are getting into PUSH these days, but we always want more. So if you have an idea for an article, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We can help you develop your idea or, if you prefer, we can follow it up ourselves – go on you know you want to do it!
