Rewarding School Work
In 2006, Northern Kites, with the aid of
its cartoon character ‘Sprite the
Kite’, launched an Environmental Merit
Award. These awards, supported by
Sustainability North East,
were designed to reward
activities demonstrating outstanding
environmental awareness in schools.
Amy Blackburn and Rachel Urquhart
of Washingwell Primary School received the fi rst
‘Sprite the Kite Environmental Merit Award’ in
2006 from the MP for Blaydon Constituency, Dave
Anderson.
