Park Update
Magic million?
It's tempting to suggest that, taking into account all the investment the past two seasons, the massive spike in attendance last year, and with more big things planned on the horizon, the Coyle family must have the magic million in its sights as an eventual attendance target for Tayto Park. “I never thought we would have
got to 750,000 this quickly,” comments managing director Charles Coyle. “Ray, my father, would like to break the one million barrier, I know he would, but I'd be happy if we could get to around 900-950,000. It took Dublin Zoo 180 years to get over a million, so let's see what happens.” Ray Coyle has other business
interests as well as Tayto Park, but having sold his share of Tayto crisp owner Largo Foods last year, he does have a little more time (and money) to devote to the park. Clearly the 64-year-old self-made businessman still has the hunger too.
