Would you consider a flexible/dynamic pricing strategy at your park, similar to that used by an airline?
Jason McClure, Cedar Point, USA: Cedar Point already uses a form of dynamic pricing. While our walk up gate price remains fairly consistent, we utilise our website for varying admission promotions available exclusively online. Resort and other non-admission premium offerings also fluctuate in price based on guest demand. As always, the best deals on admission to Cedar Point are found at
cedarpoint.com.
Charles Coyle, Tayto Park, Ireland: It's certainly something that we might consider as we move away from our current token/wristband system towards all- inclusive pricing in the coming years. Flexible pricing would certainly be useful during winter and if we did it I think we would look at discounting in off-peak periods rather than raising the price at peak times, although options are on the table at the moment.
John Arie, Fun Spot America: We have recently discussed dynamic pricing as an option for our busiest times. One major problem we see is that no one we know knows how to do it or has a proven formula that works and that our customers will accept. I hope IAAPA and the industry will work on this so we can become more business savvy and stay competitive.

Dubai Parks and Resorts (DP&R), set to become the Middle East’s largest integrated theme park destination when it opens next month, has announced the release of an official theme song. The track, entitled All the Wonders of the Universe, soundtracks a promotional film featuring all three theme parks, Motiongate, Bollywood Parks Dubai and Legoland Dubai. The official theme song is a creative collaboration with the Academy Award winner Alan Menken, an American film composer and pianist who “tells the story of joy, laughter and amazement coming together at Dubai Parks and Resorts.” Hear the song and see an accompanying animated video at
