Supplier Update

To Infinity and beyond!

KMG completes record-breaking thrill ride

The Dutch ride manufacturer KMG is a master when to comes to building spectacular

attractions that offer operators maximum portability. Wow-ing German fair-goers since the

summer, Infinity is no different. Swinging up to 65-metres

(213ft) high, the world's tallest travelling thrill ride can be moved from location to

location on just four trailers

and without the aid of a crane. Here's a quick update on this other recent KMG deliveries

which it has gone on to appear at a string of other events, including the high profile Rheinkirmes in Düsseldorf. At many of them it was by far the tallest and most commanding attraction on offer. The 24-capacity attraction, marketed by KMG as

T

Inversion-24 (the very big brother to the company's existing Inversion-12) it features an all-new seat configuration. Three rows of back-to-back seats (4+4) are attached to the end of a “claw” that rotates at the bottom of the ride's main swinging arm. Once the brakes are released, each row of seats also somersaults, creating a wildly disorientating and breathtaking ride pattern as riders are whisked through the sky.

he Baden-Württemberg town of Pforzheim (southwest Germany) was lucky enough to witness the public debut of this awe-inspiring Infinity back in July, since

An LED lighting package, painted scenery and other

decorations give the ride added visibility, but chances are when it's in full swing, it will be hard for anyone to miss, wherever they are on the fair. In Pforzheim, the attraction pulled large crowds and many repeat riders, according to owner Joep Hoefnagels. The minimum rider height is 1.4m. Construction of the attraction, which occupies a 14 x

19m footprint, takes around one day. The ride's scissor-like set up was inspired by the system used on KMG's XXL swing ride (three of which already travel in Germany), a new version of which was delivered this summer to FJF Amusements, headed up by Jamie Pickett, in Australia. Infinity's arrival on the German fairground scene has not gone unnoticed by operators from across Europe, and already KMG has fielded enquiries from potential customers in France and the UK.

KMG keeps

'em coming In August, KMG shipped a brand new X-Factory (Miami) ride to the USA, which was expected to reach its new owner, West Coast Skyways (Mike Demas) early this month. The firm is also completing an Inversion-12 (maximum swing height 24m/78ft) for Crescent City Amusements (Greg Brooks), also in the USA. This ride will be shipped at the end of September. For 2017, KMG has just one production slot available. After that, March 2018 is the earliest you can have a new ride delivered.
