Santa Cruz Beach A

$12 million improvement project is now underway at California's Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (SCBB). Concept drawings reveal a new main entrance and a fresh new look for a section of the Boardwalk between Neptune’s

Kingdom and Undertow rollercoaster. The new entrance will include state-of-the-art ticketing windows, an entrance plaza, and a fresh new look for several adjacent games, concessions and attractions including Fright Walk and Lazer Maze. Roto, an Ohio-based design firm, worked with Boardwalk staff to design the project

which will connect the classic Moorish-style of the Cocoanut Grove building with the more colourful, eclectic style of the Boardwalk. A number of local contractors are also working on the project. "This project has been 10 years in the planning," reveals SCBB director of

community affairs , Kris Reyes. “The construction phase is expected to employ nearly 200 local tradespeople and construction workers, and ultimately create 63 new

providing 300 full-time and more than 2,000 seasonal jobs. The current project, due for completion in summer 2017, is part of the park's ongoing improvements, which have also included a new parking lot, signage and other enhancements.

MistRider Zipline debuts

at Niagara Falls Overlooking the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls in Niagara Falls, Canada, a new zipline experience offers an adrenaline-inducing way to experience the most powerful waterfalls in North America. Riders on Zipline to the Falls are seated in harnesses and clipped to one of four

parallel ziplines, where they dangle a precarious 67m (220ft). The gates open, and gravity takes over as people suddenly soar across the sky, floating 670m (2,200ft) at speeds of 70km/h (40mph) along the edge the vast Niagara River gorge. People ages seven and older, weighing between 50 to 300 pounds (23 to 136 kg) can participate in the experience. The boat you can see in the distance of this picture is a new 700-passenger

catamaran operated by Hornblower Niagara Cruises, officialCanadian operator of boat tours to Niagara Falls.
