APPRENTICE WINNER SIGNS UP WITH NICEIC
The Apprentice winner, Joseph Valente, has signed up with NICEIC, voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry. Joseph was named the winner of the hit BBC show last year. The victory has earned him the support of Lord Sugar in the expansion of his plumbing, heating and electrical business, Impra Gas. Part of that development includes gaining NICEIC accreditation. As the
nation’s most recognised certification body, Joseph admits NICEIC approval was vital to expanding his business. “We used to sub-contract out all of our electrical work, but winning The Apprentice means we have been able to take on two fully qualified electricians, and start doing that work in-house. “Being an Approved Contractor with NICEIC means we can now offer a
full electrical service to our clients including consumer unit changes and electrical reporting and testing.” NICEIC CEO Emma Clancy added: “We are delighted to welcome Impra Gas and Joseph on board”. Joseph is also keen to capitalise on the growing trend for smart
technology around the home. Continual developments in technology in recent years have transformed the way we work and are increasingly changing the way we live in our ‘connected’ homes. This is something Joseph has identified as a specialist area for his business.

LAUNCH OF NEW VIRTUAL BROCHURE LIBRARY
REHAU has produced a new version of its user friendly ‘Docs’ app which allows specifiers, consultants and contractors to access product and technical information on their mobiles and tablets. The app, which is available to download from the App Store simply
by searching for ‘REHAU docs’, allows users to create their own virtual library of REHAU brochures and specification guides which they can access instantly at any time. Specifiers and contractors can personalise their library simply by
tapping the relevant tab within the app to select their area of interest and then choose from REHAU’s many product areas. These include cable management systems, as well as window and door systems, district heating, ground source energy solutions and sub surface heating and cooling. Within each product area, there is a newsstand-style selection
panel to view all of the available material and a favourites button to easily store and access the information used most often. The new Docs app also features a rolling news feed to keep users up to date with the latest product launches and planned events, and a highlights section featuring the newest publications from REHAU.
