New WinTec Sensor: Industry Trendsetter
W
here checking for presence and position monitoring in tight spaces are concerned, the
world’s smallest Transit Time Sensor, namely the WinTec P1KY001, is distinguished by its minimal housing size (22 x 32 x 12 mm) and an enormous working range of 1000 mm. Equipped with wenglor’s legendary interference-free technology (WinTec) which permits interference-free detection of black or glossy objects even at extremely inclined angles, wenglor is once again laying claim to technology leadership in the field of Photoelectronic Sensors with this new product. Despite its extremely small size, the new P1KY001 Transit Time Sensor includes numerous capabilities which permit use in complex automation applications. Its large 1000 mm working range, two switching outputs (antivalent) and the 270° potentiometer assure extraordinary performance on the one hand, as well as userfriendly, intuitive operation.

nnovative security products supplier, ESP has added to its growing access control range with the launch of EZ-TAG3 – a sleek new keypad and proximity reader, designed to provide a compact, durable and vandal-resistant solution for a wide variety of access control applications. EZ-TAG3 replaces the previous EZ-TAG2 version to introduce a more sophisticated model with additional benefits, which include a doorbell function, as well as new, improved easy programming to facilitate installation. EZ-TAG3 is an IP65 rated weatherproof combined access control keypad with
proximity tag or pin code activation, accommodating up to 1,010 key tag holders or pin numbers. Users approach the keypad and enter a four digit code or hold a personal proximity tag within a few inches to activate one of the EZ-TAG3’s two on board relays which in turn activates an appropriate door release in separate controlled areas. Higher levels of security can be obtained by requiring users to enter both a code and present a tag for authorised entry. The EZ-TAG3 supports two separate lock outputs, as well as fail safe and fail secure locks.

HBM technology ensures wind power forges full speed ahead!
A
s energy markets continue to grow, HBM offers a complete range of professional measurement solutions, designed to increase the efficiency of wind power plants. When turbines go down due to maintenance issues or equipment failure, the expense of repair crews and crane day rates can send costs per kilowatt hour soaring, not to mention potentially long delays waiting for spare parts, which can further increase costs. Often operating in harsh conditions such as high winds and storms and in remote locations, HBM measurement technology helps to identify mechanical stress on wind turbine components at an early stage, subsequently minimising potential downtime. Developed by HBM, nCodeDesignLife™ software contributes to the optimal design of wind power plants from the development phase and determines the probable service life of critical components.
