“Earlier in the day at the homecoming game, I had the great
pleasure of seeing Mr Puzio, who was homeroom teacher for me and many others in 1976. I spent some time with Jimmy Gallagher and his entire family. I linked up with Joe Azelby and also saw my lifelong friend Steve Pacicco (we started grammar school together in 1968!) and Matt Burke and Drew Lago- marsino—two guys I hadn’t seen in 35 years. Matt shared with me something I never knew, namely that he met his wife at a party at my parents’ house in the fall of our senior year (1979). That was really nice to hear. We celebrated our 35th reunion on Saturday night in the li-
brary at BC. The stories, the recollections, and the memories were great. I believe we left a good legacy at BC, and it’s reas- suring to know that our class continues to contribute to the school’s success and well-being. The class of 1980 won the Presidents Cup, awarded to the class contributing the most treasure to the school’s Annual Fund drive. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Tom Furlong, who sadly passed away in late 2013 but was kind and generous enough to include Bergen Catholic in his estate. RIP Tom—you are appreciated and missed. Guys, it was my pleasure to spend time with you, and to
share our common heritage through Bergen Catholic. It was soulfully reassuring to know that despite our advancing age, we could sit down and knock back a couple of beers and be young again as friends and classmates. As much as things have changed for us individually and in our professional and personal lives, we’re still BC guys—happily and forever I think. I woke up Sunday with a smile hangover.”
