Architectural Walking Tour Saturdays, 10 a.m. Guests are invited to explore San Juan Capist- rano’s unique blend of architecture, spanning nearly 240 years, on this weekly 90-minute walking tour with Friends of the Library volunteers. The nonprofit group, which sup- ports local library programming and services, accepts donations for the walk. Meet at the train depot on Verdugo Street for this architectural tour of San Juan’s adobes, Spanish- era dwellings and Michael Graves designed San Juan Capistrano Library. Historical Walking Tour Sundays, 1 p.m. Explore San Juan Capistrano’s colorful past on this 90-minute walking tour with docents from the San Juan Capistrano Historical Society. Visit 18th-century adobes and stroll the Los Rios Historic District, home to the oldest continually occupied residential street in California. Meet at the train platform on Verdugo Street. Farmers Market Wednesdays, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Spring and Summer, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Fall and Winter Shop fresh flowers, seasonal pro- duce and specialty food items from around 40 vendors in downtown San Juan Capistrano each week where Camino Capistrano and Yorba Street meet. This certified farmers market encourages San Juan’s citizens to live a healthy lifestyle and provides a vibrant community event where all walks of life come together to experience an open- air market in historic downtown. 19 St. Joseph’s Day and The Return of the Swallows Celebration San Juan celebrates the coming of spring and the famed swallows’ return to Mission San Juan Cap- istrano with a historic bell ringing, live mariachi music, community presentations, local student perfor- mances and talks of St. Joseph’s Day history. 15 San Juan Summer Nites A quintessential San Juan summer activity returns as the city hosts its ever-popular, free concert series. Concerts are held on the third Wednesday of the month from June to September. All performanc- es are held at Historic Town Center Park and run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. sanjuancapistrano.org.


17 Rotary Golf Tournament The all-volunteer San Juan Cap- istrano Rotary hosts its annual shotgun-start charity tournament at San Juan Hills Golf Club. The fund- raising event is closed out with din- ner, raffles, a silent auction, awards and no host bar. sjcrotary.org.


25 Music Under the Stars Support the preservation and sustainability of Mission San Juan Capistrano at this summer-long concert series held in the Mission’s courtyard.
