Running in parallel to the existing WEC activities, TMG has also been entrusted with returning the TOYOTA name to the World Rally Championship (WRC).
TMG has built the TOYOTA Yaris WRC to compete in the championship from the 2017 season. 2015 is the first official year of development for the car, which began preliminary testing last year at various rally locations in Europe.
The WRC programme goes hand in hand with TMG’s return to rallying via its customer motorsport programme. The GT86 C3-R3 customer rally car was launched last year and will benefit from its own competition in 2015, with the HJS TMG CS-R3 Rally Trophy running within the German Rally Championship. That doubles the number of dedicated series for the GT86 in Europe, with TMG once again organising the TMG GT86 Cup within the VLN Championship for its GT86 CS-V3 race car.
TMG expects 2015 to be another important milestone in its history, with new chapters waiting to be written.
