TOYOTA RACING OPENS NEW CHAPTER IN WEC
TOYOTA Racing has embarked on a new chapter in its World Endurance Championship programme with defence of its Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ World Championships.
TOYOTA became the first Japanese manufacturer to win the WEC title last season, in a year that also saw Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Buemi claim the drivers’ crown.
In a series where energy efficiency is a key performance factor, TOYOTA Racing’s TS040 HYBRID proved to be the class of the field, taking five wins from eight races.
The team will field two upgraded TS040 HYBRID race cars for its fourth consecutive season in WEC, proudly displaying the #1 and #2 on its cars throughout the year.
The #1 car will feature Anthony and Sébastien alongside Kazuki Nakajima, who is planned to contest a full WEC season for the first time.
