THE MANY FACES OF STÉPHANE SARRAZIN
Few drivers have proven themselves at the highest levels of both rallying and circuit racing but TMG’s very own Stéphane Sarrazin is certainly one of them. His talent behind the wheel has seen him play key roles in the company over the last 13 years from Formula 1 to World Endurance and now with the return to WRC.
Even more unusual is that Stéphane is winning races and rallies simultaneously. He and his TOYOTA Racing team-mates Alex Wurz and Mike Conway stood on the top step of the podium with another victory for the TS040 HYBRID at Bahrain in November just a few weeks after he won in a rally car at the Tour de Corse.
While Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Buemi came away with the 2014 Driver’s title, Stéphane and the #7 crew were instrumental in helping TOYOTA Racing clinch the 2014 Manufacturers’ World Championship.

“Last year was a good season for us,” he recalls. “Le Mans was really bad luck. We had a lead of almost a lap after 14 hours but then had an electrical problem which caused a fire and we dropped a lot of points from the championship. After that we had some good racing and we had a competitive car, but we just had some bad luck which meant we lost points. In Austin, for example, we ran as high as second before the red flag, but the car was very fast.”
2015 brings a new set of challenges that Stéphane is embracing in both WEC and rally.
