Automated decoration specialist Apex Machine Company will be demonstrating three printing systems for tubular products at the show, including two purpose-built systems for the medical sector. The newly-developed C-9 syringe printer is
intended to provide a low cost solution for high quality decoration, offering two-color 360˚ printing at up to 150 parts per minute. The C-40 is a medical cartridge automated ferris wheel-style printer designed to handle cylindrical objects at speeds up to 80 parts per minute. The company will also show a C-4000 High Speed
Tube printer. This is also a ferris wheel design but uses dual lanes to handle flexible and rigid tubes at up 300 parts per minute. ❙

Testing systems specialist Instron will show its new Advanced Video Extensometer (AVE 2), designed for compliance with the ISO 527-2 and ASTM D638 testing standards. The AVE2 is a fully-integrated device that adapts to the normal fluctuations of environmental conditions in the laboratory, such as thermal and lighting variations. Instron claims it is the only device on the market to use a real-time 490 Hz data rate while also achieving 1 micron accuracy. The company will also demonstrate its AutoX
