exhibition preview | NPE 2015 MATERIALS AND ADDITIVES

Right: AGC will show its mouldable fluoropolymers

AGC FluoroCompounds Booth S19054

Asahi Glass subsidiary AGC Chemicals Americas will show its Fluon family of melt processible compounds, which are based on FEP, ETFE, PFA, PVDF, MFA or ECTFE copolymer resins. Developed by the AGC FluoroCompounds division, the materials are said to be suitable for production of demanding parts for the automotive, industrial, aerospace, transit and appliance industries due to their combination of physical tough- ness and high resistance to heat and chemicals. The range includes eight different compound types, all suitable for injection moulding processing. ❙ www.agcchem.com

Right: ANS will launch new carbon

nanotubes for ESD and EMI

overmoulded onto polypropylene and a variety of other polymers, making them suitable for medical applica- tions and toys. The company will also show four new additions to its 8000 Series TPEs. 8150 is a black 48 Shore A TPE with rubber-like properties and a matt surface finish targeted at automotive applications. 8078B is a black 82 Shore A TPE suitable for applications calling for good UV stability. 8088N is a black 88 Shore A TPE that passes the FMVSS302 automotive specification for flammability. 8088BL is a colourable 88 Shore A grade that is FDA compliant and UV stable and targets applications requiring high impact resistance and a reduced coefficient of friction. ❙ www.elastocontpe.com

Lockheed Martin subsidiary Applied Nanostructured Solutions (ANS) will be launching two new nanomateri- als at the show for production of plastic parts with integral EMI shielding or ESD capabilities. The new products are based on the company’s

proprietary carbon nanotube production process and are designed for easy incorporation into plastic compounds. They are claimed to provide EMI shielding performance of up to 60dB at typical loadings of 5-7 wt%. Loadings of 0.2-0.5% are sufficient to meet most ESD requirements. The new materials are available as encapsulated

flake or chopped glass formats and are said to be “drop-in” products that require no special handling or safety precautions. ❙ www.appliednanostructuredsolutions.com

Elastocon Booth S26043

Elastocon TPE Technologies will be showing five of its latest TPE materials, including the CLR Series clear grades, which are claimed to provide high tensile and tear strength properties together with a tactile finish. CLR Series TPEs are FDA-compliant and can be

58 INJECTION WORLD | March 2015 www.injectionworld.com Kureha America Booth S33026

Kureha America’s display focuses on its KF Polymer melt processible PVDF, which offers good chemical and abrasion resistance, a low coefficient of friction, good thermal ageing, and withstands exposure to UV, gamma radiation and fire. The company says the polymer can be used at temperatures up to 150˚C, making it suitable for a wide range of applications in areas such as pumps, valves and housings. ❙ www.kureha.com
