The company is now headed by Chairman Kamil Ziegler. Revenues for 2013 amounted to €3.71bn with gross profits of €346m. Kino saw the highest sales with 55 percent of turnover followed by STIHIMA and JOKER. Revenues in 2012 from the games amounted to €3.9bn whilst gross profit was €773m.


OPAP has 4,869 points of sale in total (4,681 in Greece and 188 in Cyprus) and has a 50 percent share of the gaming market in Greece and Cyprus and currently runs three sports betting games – Stihima, Propo and Propo-Goal which between them account for almost half of the group’s total revenues. OPAP also managed to shut down Stanleybet back in 2008 after the UK company opened two betting shops in Greece and was to be a major competitor to OPAP.


There are 1,902 agencies in Attica, 758 in Western Macedonia, Thessaly and Epirus, 880 in Central and Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 408 in the Faroe Islands and 791 in Central Greece, Evias, Peloponnisou and Ionian Islands.

Today OPAP runs number games Lotto, Joker, Keno, Proto, Extra 5 and Super 3 plus football pools, sports betting and Go Lucky games.


In March 2013 OPAP appointed GTECH as the compa- ny’s provider for the expansion of its activities in the online sports betting market focusing primarily on the online sports betting sector.


OPAP’s subsidiary OPAP Investment Ltd takes part in a joint venture to operate the lottery with Intralot (16.5 percent), Scientific Games (16.5 percent) and Lottomatica (0.00001 percent). OPAP has the remain- ing 66.9999 percent.


The three main growth changes for OPAP will be the VLT market plus capitalising on online gaming via bet- ting games and OPAP is currently developing its online activity to offer better services whilst OPAP, in a joint venture with Intralot and Scientific Games, is launch- ing scratch cards with an instant win.

the exclusive rights until 2030 to operate 13 games of chance and to operate 35,000 VLTs until 2022.


OPAP was given the right to operate VLTs by the Gambling Control Commission (EEEP) and paid a
