US – GTECH WINS MISSOURI LOTTERY CONTRACT GTECH has been awarded a seven-year integrated services contract to provide a new central gaming system, a variety of lottery/self-service machines, multimedia displays, an upgraded telecommunications network, and related ongoing services to the Missouri Lottery.


GTECH has been the major lottery technology and services provider to the Missouri Lottery since 1991. The new con- tract, which is scheduled to run for seven years beginning in the second half of 2015, is the result of a competitive pro- curement, and includes one three-year extension option, exercisable at the Lottery’s discretion. GTECH expects to receive revenues of approximately $112 million over the seven-year term.


“Over the past 23 years, GTECH’s flexible technology solu- tions and marketing insights have supported the Missouri Lottery’s innovative approaches and multi-faceted portfolio,” said GTECH Americas President and CEO Jaymin Patel. “Through this agreement, our robust, forward-thinking solu- tions will help to ensure that the Lottery continues to grow and raise funds for good causes.”

US – SCIENTIFIC GAMES NAMES LEADERSHIP TEAM Having completed its merger with Bally Technologies for approximately $5.1bn, including the refinancing of approxi- mately $1.8bn of existing Bally net debt, the company has announced its executive leadership team. The executive team will oversee an organization comprised of three operat- ing units: Gaming, Lottery and Interactive. In addition to President and Chief Executive Officer, Gavin Isaacs, and Executive VP and CFO, Scott Schweinfurth, the executive leadership team of Scientific Games will include: Derik Mooberry as the new Group Chief Executive, Gaming; and James Kennedy will be Group Chief Executive, Lottery.

The Borgata Casino Hotel & Spa in Atlantic City installs the latest Gamefield xD game from WMS, The Flintstones New Jersey - Installations


WMS Gaming has announced the global launch of it’s The Flintstones slot game at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Flintstones game combines the sights, sounds and characters of the classic animated series with the Gamefield xD cabinet from WMS.


Ted Herzchel, Vice President Slot Operations for Borgata, said: “Keeping our slot floor fresh and excit- ing for our players is extremely important to Borgata, and we are thrilled to be the first casino to offer The Flintstones game from WMS.”


The town of Bedrock is brought to life thanks to a 42-inch horizontal screen over a vertical 32-inch screen with a mechanical wheel on the Gamefield xD cabinet. The 5×4 base game features both a Flintstones and a Rubbles array, and reels stretch up to 10 symbols high as WILD reels and multipliers are potentially added in The Flintstones mystery fea- ture. Unique bonus rounds, drawn straight from the iconic series, include the Bedrock bowling feature and the DINO Bonus.

US Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has relocated its Colorado laboratory to a new 40,000sq.ft. facility in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The new location became fully functional on December 1. Dave Daniels, Sr. Director of Engineering for GLI, is also General Manager of the Colorado laboratory. He said, “GLI has been very fortunate to have an ever-increasing demand for our services, both in our testing and certification services and in our many services beyond testing, such as forensics, network security assessments, field inspections and GLI University training. Century Casinos land off-track betting network for Alberta


CANADA Century Casinos’ 75 per cent- owned subsidiary has been selected by Horse Racing Alberta (HRA) to operate the pari-mutuel off-track horse betting network in Southern Alberta starting in 2015.

After a thorough selection process, Century Casinos, togeth- er with its 25 per cent-partner with long-standing off-track bet- ting network experience, was awarded the license to operate the off-track betting network in Southern Alberta, which includes
