US – MULLER HEADS TO NIGA Courtney Muller, the former senior vice president and head of the Global Gaming Expo trade show for Reed Exhibitions, has joined Atlanta-based Urban Expositions, producer of the annual NIGA Indian gaming trade show, as executive vice president.
As EVP of Urban Expositions, Courtney will report directly to UE’s Doug Miller and Tim von Gal. She will assume responsi- bility for overseeing much of the day-to-day management of the company. Additionally, she will seek out new acquisitions, launches and partnerships for Urban Expositions.

NEW JERSEY – BETFAIR US UP BY 17 PER CENT Betfair US, which comprises pari-mutuel horserace betting operator TVG, and online casino site Betfair New Jersey, has announced its first-half results via its parent Betfair Group.
Total first-half (May to October) revenue across Betfair US increased by 17 per cent to $47.3m, driven mainly by a strong performance at TVG alongside an encouraging contri- bution from Betfair New Jersey, which currently holds an 11 per cent share of the fledgling New Jersey online casino mar- ket.
TVG’s strong recent growth continued with handle (the total volume of bets placed) between May and October up 15 per cent in a wider market where handle was down two per cent.
A key growth driver was an 85 per cent increase in Mobile wagering in the first half of the year, with customers making increasing use of the smartphone channel following the launch of native TVG iPhone and iPad Apps in the Apple app store. Mobile represented 14 per cent of TVG’s total staking, a significant increase from 2013.
US – MOHEGAN SIGNALS RESORTS EXPANSION Resorts Casino Hotel, the first casino to open in Atlantic City and a property managed by Mohegan Gaming Advisors, has announced a $9.4m multi-faceted expansion of its conven- tion space that will bring an additional 12,000 sq. ft. of event space, including 11 new conference rooms.
This expansion is part of the hotel’s long-term property rein- vestment plan, following the recent $35m Jimmy Buffet- themed Margaritaville and nearly $70m expansion and reno- vation of Resorts under Morris Bailey’s ownership.

Continuing to invest in its market leading product, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has announced details of the $13m property-wide renovation taking place over the next several months. Improvements include a complete redesign of the Borgata Buffet, renovations to Spa Toccare, the casino floor, front desk, Borgata suites, and back-of-the-house Talent areas.

exquisite architectural details. The carpeting will offer a new take on a traditional Italian fresco, while the vertical surfaces will receive a textured, patterned-wall covering paired with a conventional sconce to give the iconic buffet a comfortable, residential feel.
The evolution of Borgata’s guestrooms began in 2012 with a complete $50 million redesign to all 1,566 Classic guestrooms and hotel corridors, and continues in 2015 with an additional $6m dedicated to restyle 39 Opus suites in addition to two 5,000 square-foot Residence suites. Nevada Station Casinos, the first operator to offer legal online casino gambling in the US, is shutting down its online poker business, Ultimate Gaming, in Nevada saying it has failed to meet its financial targets. The company has already closed its online operations in New Jersey. Station branded its online poker site Ultimate Poker and launched it in Nevada in April 2013, marketing it alongside its Ultimate Fighting Championship. Tom Breitling Chairman of Ultimate Gaming said: “Online poker revenues in Nevada have fallen far short of original projections. Moreover, the state-by- state approach to online gaming has created an extremely cost-prohibitive and challenging operating environment.”
