Vegas discount cards are right for agents
WHOLESALE LAS, a travel
company specialising in all things Las Vegas, has launched a travel card that offers card holders discounts at a range of Vegas restaurants, hotels and attractions. These include $75 off helicopter
tours to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, up to 23% off Kart racing at Pole Position, a 10% discount on
Vegas Extreme
Skydiving, or for something a bit different, a $10-$30 discount from Stripper 101, which offers pole dancing classes for ladies. Several hotels offer highly discounted rates.
The card is also a MasterCard prepaid card which is loaded with pounds but allows card holders to make purchases in the US in dollars without any payment charges. The cards cost £25 each but
travel agents can purchase 10 unique codes, costing £5 each, which can be used to purchase the card. They can then give or sell these on to their clients. Agents can register at

BY STEVE HARTRIDGE DISCOVER Egypt has added two new seven-night packages that include a four- or five-night cruise of Lake Nasser, with a two- or three-night city stay in Aswan for the Sun Festival at Abu Simbel in October and for New Year’s Eve in December. The Sun Festival at Abu Simbel is held
twice a year to mark the birthday and coronation of King Ramses II. The highlight of the festival is the moment the rising sun’s rays enter the complex and light up the statue of Ramses II, and four of the Sun Gods seated beside him. The fifth statue, the God of Darkness,
remains in the dark. The temple is angled in such a way that this only happens on two occasions, in February and October. A five-night cruise and a two-night stay in Aswan, departing from Heathrow on October 18, starts from £1,799pp for the Sun Festival, which takes place on October 22.
The New Year’s Eve package is a four- night cruise and three-night Aswan city stay and departs on December 28. It is priced at £2,249pp. Both deals include return flights from Heathrow, all transfers in Egypt, B&B accommodation at the Movenpick Aswan Resort, and a Lake Nasser cruise on a full-board basis.
