Interroll Synchronous Drum Motor

expands into servo drive applications

Motor, the most powerful and eco-friendly energy efficient hygienic conveyor belt drive ever developed by Interroll - providing a one drive system to suit all needs and speeds (0.01 m/s up to 4.5 m/s). Its capabilities now expand into applications previously reserved for servo-drive technology. Combined with an integrated encoder or other feedback system, the Synchronous Drum Motor can accelerate from zero to 100 percent of the maximum speed in milliseconds. It can be precisely controlled at both extremely high and ultra low speeds with fast and timely exact positioning. Also on display will be the 24 V DC Interroll RollerDrive EC310, which uses up to 30% less energy and recycles brake energy. For modular plastic belt conveyors Interroll utilises a range of FDA approved profiled rubber and PU lagging, stainless steel or polymeric sprockets.

range of custom manufactured metal detectors at the PPMA Show this year. The demonstrations of their latest technology, illustrates how Fortress’s Never Obsolete Commitment protects investments by providing their customers the ability to upgrade their current Fortress detector without having to purchase an entirely new system. This software has been developed to be compatible with all previously manufactured Fortress detectors and can be field installed on their Phantom and Stealth models. The FM software analyses the detection signal and uses an algorithm to calculate the signal strength based on a function of time and amplitude. This can significantly improve performance in certain applications, including large bags, by at least 40%. Increasing detection sensitivities lowers the occurrence of false rejects and ultimately increases the return on investment of a Fortress Metal Detection System. Also on display, will be their revolutionary patent-pending Halo technology; an automatic metal detector testing system.

mbassador Antalis will present its new Masterline® ePacker, showcase the latest addition to the Lantech stretch wrap systems

and present more of its product innovations at PPMA 2014 on Stand B82. Visitors will see how its wide range of packaging solutions can ultimately improve their businesses efficiency, and with the right investment, improve logistics costs and reduce wastage. The latest Lantech Q300XT stretch wrap system follows the popular Q-300 model but with added automation, allowing for the patented Cut and Clamp® to automatically capture stretch film and cut it at the end of the wrap cycle. With no scheduled preventative maintenance required, the Q300XT can save up to two minutes of labour for forklift drivers per load and offers the lowest cost of wrapping loads while providing maximum load containment and efficiency. The new Masterline® ePacker, recently launched this summer, will also be present at the show.

include a range of products designed to detect the packaging that many sensors find difficult or impossible to ‘see’ reliably. The SICK TranspaTect photoelectric distance sensor achieves the most advanced detection to date of clear materials and films and is particularly suited for transparent and semi-transparent trays and bottles. The SICK TranspaTect’s high optical

performance and detection accuracy promise improved production efficiencies in processes such as picking, placing, labelling and printing. Even matt-black – one of the difficult packaging colours – is no problem for the new SICK W2S family of sub-miniature photoelectric positioning sensors. The W2S enables high-speed conveying lines to integrate modern sensing power cost- effectively, even with the most challenging of packaging designs, including jet black, brightly coloured, matt, and transparent of highly reflective objectives. Pharmaceutical, Food, FMCG and cosmetics

packaging all need human readable on-pack data, such as batch, lot numbers and best-before expiry dates. These numbers, letters, symbols and codes need to be verified, be of a readable quality and match the barcode to ensure the right data is associated with the right pack. With the launch of a the SICK Lector 620 OCR

scanner Optical Character Recognition, Optical Character Verification, 2D and barcode reading are combined in a single device to provide outstanding reading capability for quality validation and traceability. For an even ‘tastier’ experience, why not come

along during SICK’s hospitality slots at 12.30 – 1.30 and during the last hour of the show each day, on Stand A18.

signal light sector. It is the first light that can be flexibly adapted to nearly every requirement without complex configuration via hardware. The otherwise typical costly combination of different-coloured modules to form a light is no longer needed as this device can also be adapted to its new task ad hoc on- the fly via the controller. Even solutions that can be set by means of DIP switches are not much of an alternative as they cannot be changed during running operation. The Balluff SmartLight is a true multi- talent, as it can do much more than signal predefined operating states with fixed colours, even tendencies, developments and trends of physical values can be represented. Temperature states, fill levels of systems or even the position of a carriage via a position sensor system can be visualised on the column, which may be up to 20 LEDs tall. For connection and installation, just one simple, unshielded, three-wire sensor cable – as is typical for IO-Link – is needed, and already the LED signal column offers maximum functionality and previously unimagined possibilities with its three operating modes.
