VAMIZI OPENS PRIVATE VILLAS


Vamizi Lodge in Mozambique is opening two private villas this year. Tartaruga Private Villa, which sleeps up to 14 people in five en-suite bedrooms, opens this month. It is on a coral beach, has two treehouses linked by a timber walkway and a private beach and pool. The second villa, yet to be named, will sleep up to 16 people in six en-suite rooms when it

The Shangri-La Hotel in the Shard in London has opened the highest swimming pool in Western Europe. Located in the hotel’s Gong bar on the


52nd floor, the 11-metre pool is screened off during the day and serves as a normal pool before the screens are pulled back at sunset and it becomes part of the bar. Swimmers enjoy views of St Paul’s

SUJAN ADDS PALACE IN JAIPUR


Sujan, the Indian and Kenyan palaces, lodges and camps specialist, has added a palace in India to its collection. Sujan Rajmahal Palace in Jaipur, which opens in November, will have 20 suites and rooms, two restaurants, a bar, pool and spa. The palace has hosted the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the royal family, as well as Jackie Kennedy and Lord Mountbatten. The property was originally built in 1729 by the Maharaja of Jaipur and became the official residence of the British
