The Way We Were...
There are times when we all tend to take things for granted and it is occasionally good to look back at our roots and remember where it all started. Over the years under the direction of various Chairmen, Committees and devoted members Ham Polo Club has changed, hopefully for the better, but also hopefully without losing its family charm and atmosphere.
These changes do not just appear, they come with a lot of dedicated forethought and planning behind the scenes and a lot of generosity from some of our members; in particular the generous support of four of our past Presidents, Billy Walsh, Douglas Brown DFC*, Ali Saeed Albwardy & Vichai Raksriaksorn. Support from our Members with generous donations such as the sound system by Steve & Gillie Lamprell, our current President, the support of the changing Rooms project by Heiko Volker, the donation of the horse walker by Pete McCormack, the Polo Office furniture & equipment by the C-D family, the list goes on and on.
New members will tend to think that the Club has always been as it is today – we felt a short pictorial essay on the changes over the years may just remind people that it is only through the love and dedication of those that care that we have achieved all that we have today.
