Favorite skaters: Charlie White, Meryl Davis, Gracie Gold, Jason Brown

Favorite moves: Spins, ballet jump, catch-foot, spiral Goal: I want to make it to the Olympics.

How I got started: I saw an ice rink in Reno, Nev., while on Christmas vacation when I was 5, but my parents didn’t allow me to ice skate because it looked dangerous. Two years later I went on a field trip with the Boys and Girls Club to the local skating rink, where I finally got my chance to ice skate and I loved it. After that I started lessons.

Memorable moments: When I got a perfect scratch spin and when I got my foot over my head in a catch-foot.

What else you should know about me: I love mer- maids. I would like to start my own pet grooming business so that I can save money for my college account.

Age: 11 Hometown: Holland, Mich. Home club: Greater Grand Rapids FSC Level: Juvenile Coach: April Treado How often I skate: Five to six days per week

Favorite moves: Double Salchow, double loop, Biellmann spin

How I got started: My brother took skating lessons so that he could skate outside in the winter for fun. I got bored watching, so I asked my mom if I could do it, too. In learn-to-skate, they invited our group to be in the spring ice show with lights and everything. After that, I didn’t want to do anything else but skate.

Memorable moments: I love it when my coach is hap- py with my skating. I have really high goals for myself and it means so much to me when my coach feels I have skated well. In general, any time I spend on the ice and with my coach is memorable. I love skating so much. It makes me who I am.

What else you should know about me: I am part of the Street Performers Series in my hometown. I play my violin during the annual Tulip Festival and in our downtown shop- ping district throughout the summer. I use the tips I earn to help pay for my skating and to donate to different caus- es. Last year, I bought my new boots with all my own mon- ey. I have also given money to Dorie’s Promise Orphanage in Guatemala (where we adopted my sister) and to a friend from Kenya to help him bring fresh water to his village.
