I

T WAS A PLEASURE TO SEE OLD FRIENDS AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS at the 2014 Cattle Raisers Convention in San Anto- nio. The excitement at the event is incredible and

always sends everyone home recharged and with a new passion for ranching. There are no words to describe being in the same room with thousands of ranchers who all share the exact same pride, concerns and joys that you do. The Cattle Raisers Convention is the perfect repre-

sentation of why people join TSCRA: They want to be connected to people who share the same passions. As hard as our business can be, each of us has a passion for the land, cattle and wildlife. This drives us to get out of bed each day to do what it takes to feed the world. Convention is also special because

it is full of activities that represent the various reasons for joining TSCRA. We receive updates about current and forthcoming laws (government affairs), learn more about what is being done to protect our ranches (law enforcement), connect with new information sources (The Cattleman magazine) and receive high quality education (School for Successful Ranching). And anyone who attended the Cattle Raisers Dance

or Young People’s Reception can attest that we also know how to have fun! I ask all of you who attended the Cattle Raisers Con-

vention to plan now for next year’s event — March 27 to 29, Fort Worth. And, invite a guest to the 2015 Cattle Raisers Convention. Each of us knows some- one who shares the passion for ranch- ing and who wants to get involved in making our industry stronger.
