more than $10,000 One Skate at a Time, a benefit organized by U.S.


junior silver medalist Jordan Moeller, raised more than $10,000 on April 5 to benefit One Step at a Time, a camp sponsored by Children’s Oncology Services, Inc. for children and teens in treatment for cancer. Moeller, who has led the fundraising event for


three years, has generated more than $20,000 for the camp, which provides emotional and social support for patients in a safe and nurturing environment. This year’s cast included Moeller, U.S. junior


bronze medalist Jimmy Ma, two-time U.S. junior pew- ter medalists Holly Moore and Daniel Klaber, 2013 U.S. junior silver medalist Mariah Bell and U.S. novice silver medalist Paige Rydberg.


‘One Skate at a Time’ raises

gural Spirit of Skate Dallas award, which recognizes a juvenile-level skater who exemplifies the Dallas Figure Skating Club’s motto: Excellence in Skating, Ex- cellence in Character. The skater is chosen by Dallas FSC


board members from the final round of juvenile girls at Skate Dallas. The winner must display the drive to compete with joy, spirit and personality, as well as have excellent interpretation of music and an entertaining performance. Lin, 10, is coached by Sergey and Anya Artemov. Lin’s name will be en-


graved on a large trophy and displayed in Dallas FSC’s trophy case. She’ll receive a smaller replica of the trophy to commemorate her excellence of spirit, drive and character.


New England-area skaters performed at their second annual “Finale on Ice” show at Patriot Place in Foxboro, Mass., on March 2. Proceeds from the show, presented by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, benefitted the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Reach Out for Youth and Families annual campaign. The event featured skaters of all different levels, including the first synchronized skating performance at the outdoor rink by Team Icicles. Ocean State Ice Theatre debuted its “Mary Poppins” program. Special guest skaters included Megan Wessenberg, Taylor Rocco, Daniel Petrenko, Maxim Naumov, Sonja Hilmer, Kylie Duarte, Jade Esposito and Nathan Rensing, and Sydney Cook and Nathaniel Dennler. Ashley Brouillette directed the show sponsored by the Pawtucket and Providence FSC. Wendy Sheridan served as the announcer. Creative Music Productions played the music.
