located right along Highway 59 in the center of town, just north of the feed mill. Likewise, Noel also still has its de- pot, located just south of the Main Street crossing in the center of town. Continuing south, Gravette has a re- tired caboose on display located be- tween the highway and the KCS main. In Decatur, the depot is located right alongside Highway 59. Sitting just south of the depot is a nicely restored KCS F-unit (No. 73D) coupled to a ca- boose. The restored train sits right alongside the main and is easy to work into photos of passing trains. In addi- tion, the KCS serves a large feed mill just north of town via a spur off the main, which can be seen from Highway 59. This is called the Petterson Spur. Just south of Gentry is the Flint Creek power station, which has about a mile long lead off the main, and heads due west. Highway 454 crosses over the plant lead, making possible photos of a train using a balloon track with the plant in the background.

Finally, Siloam Springs has a num- ber of industries located around town, all served by KCS locals or what the crews call “dodgers.” These are local freights that have to “dodge” the main line trains while at work.

One last scenic highlight on this sec- tion of track is the beautiful Elk River Bridge, located between Lanagan and Noel in the small town of Ginger Blue. Situated near the Eagle Nest camp- ground, this bridge is a great place to catch a southbound train on a summer afternoon.

KCS main all the way from Neosho to Gentry. Between Neosho and Ander- son, there is rather limited photogra- phy access. Once trains get up over the hill out of Neosho, they will move right along. The best plan of attack is to start in Anderson and wait for a southbound near the old KCS depot or feed mill and then follow the train. Highway 59 is on the west side of the tracks from Ander- son through Noel to just north of Sul- phur Springs. There it crosses over to the east side of the right of way and stays there all the way into Gentry. Between Anderson and Lanagan, Highway 59 is right beside the tracks,
