CORE BIKE 2014 PREVIEW ONE INDUSTRIES PALIGAP

ONE INDUSTRIES Europe will be arriving with new models from all its brands with attractive buy in packages and new dealer pricing structures, we hear. The new Vapor Gear has been optimised for 2014 with a bike-specific cut that has an improved fit and further reduced weight. The full kit – jersey (RRP £44.99), pants (RRP £119.99), gloves (RRP £25.00) weighs in at only 713g (size M). Bold new colourways have been created on a full-length stretch fabric chassis offering increased durability and abrasion resistance. The Vapor gear offers creative innovation for today’s most demanding

POLARIS

athletes. New from 661, the Rage full-face helmet (RRP £139.99) has exceptional strength to weight ratio and fresh new graphics. The Carbon fusion shell is packed with ventilation and features, making the Rage ideal for Enduro where ultimate lightweight protection is in high demand. The Recon helmet (RRP £64.99) gets an upgrade for 2014 with the addition a BOA adjustment system. New for 2014, the Rage Hard Shell Kneepad (RRP £49.99) offers ultimate protection with an internal hard cap and updated graphics.

PALIGAP WILL be showcasing its hot new bike brand signing Marin. The 2014 range will be on view at the first floor Woodcote room. Amongst the models on display will be the Attack Trail featured in MBUK’s December

edition and the award-winning Mount Vision. The commuter and road

markets will be served too with the likes of the Fairfax SC3 and the Argenta. The team from Cycleops and Powertap will be

SILVERFISH UK

in the Monza room presenting the new G3 hubs and wheelsets as well as running question and answer sessions on why Powertap has the edge over pedal and crank systems. The Cycleops

virtual training software will also be available to test as well as the full range of Cycleops trainers

for 2014. Dealers and press will be able to find

the distributor in the Woodcote and Monza rooms.

A NEW addition to the ever growing and successful Polaris pod range is the Axial Pod. This completely new development uses a combination of the brand’s EVA Pod and Cargo Bag to protect bikes on their travels. Polaris’ new Axial Pod is big enough to take all downhill bikes and easily swallows 29ers but, crucially, will fold down small enough to fit under a bed when not in use.

The EVA base with adjustable bottom

bracket support protects the chain rings and the padded 600-denier upper gives protection to the frame and handlebars. A large pocket inside holds a tool

pouch in which can be stored, pedals, tools and the like whilst the larger pocket can be used to hold smaller items or smaller pieces of clothing. Weight is only 8.3kg and the dimensions are: 1400mm x 860mm x 250mm.

2014 SEES Race Face cement its grip on the component market with new wheels, pedals and new cranksets all joining the line-up. Silverfish UK will have all of the Race Face components on show at Core including hardgoods, softgoods and high performance armour. The Vancouver brand has been testing its new 2014 Turbine wheelset on its doorstep. The new no- nonsense hoops are constructed with straight pull spokes laced to alloy hubs and wrapped with a 6061 rim meaning they can take on everything from XC and trail riding right up to enduro ripping and are priced at just £419 a pair. Also forming part of the 2014 Race Face

line-up is also the new Race Face pedal range. Available at two levels and price points, the new platform offering is a guaranteed shoe gripper whether you

decide to go with the top of the line Atlas pedal with its sealed bearings and double concave platform or the Aeffect pedal with its slim construction and replaceable pins. Race Face pedals start at £99.95. Spanish performance clothing and rider equipment specialist Spiuk has made an impression in the UK and this year its helmet and shoe ranges are seeing particular innovation and focus. One of the stand out products which will be on display at Core in the Silverfish room will be the new Dharma helmet. At £119 the lid offers a spec list the same as helmets costing double that price. Constructed using a Cone-Head EPS foam moulded around a front Super Cage, increased impact strength and a low weight are inherent features. With nine colours to pick from there’s a Dharma for everyone.
