SHOW HOSTS REGIONAL HIRERS’ MEETINGS

In the lead-up to the 2014 Executive Hire Show, to be held on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 February, the Show team has hosted its inaugural Regional Hirers’ Meeting and a second event will be held later this month. “Recognising that many hirers work in splendid isolation, we also decided to host an inaugural Regional Hirers’ Meeting in Bristol in mid-October for West & Wales hirers,” said Show Director Robert Aplin. “We invited hirers to take a break from their daily routine and attend our evening meeting that started at 4.30pm. The event was a great success, with 43 hirers, representing 24 companies, attending.”

While the event was an opportunity to update guests about the latest Show developments and encourage them to visit, it was, principally, an opportunity to meet informally with like-minded hirers. Gareth Hayward, MD of Alide Hire, described the West & Wales event as a “great evening where we could catch up in an out-of-work environment and interact with other regional hirers and discuss the issues of the moment.” The meeting was sponsored by MHM Plant, whose Chairman Josh Llewellyn, commented, “our customers thought

Euro Towers in the pink

Euro Towers supported the Breast Cancer Campaign’s Wear it Pink event in colourful style on 25 October, with staff joining

in the charity’s initiative, which encouraged people to wear something pink at their workplace and make a donation. A raffle of home-made cakes, as well as items donated by Morrisons, was also held, along with several internal competitions.

A total of £460 was raised on the day, and other initiatives are being

organised to add to the total. One of the events planned is the auction of a special limited edition Minifold low level platform that the manufacturer has produced, appropriately powder coated in pink. The auction will be held on the Euro Towers stand during the Executive Hire Show in February. Euro Towers was also busy arranging events as part of PASMA’s National

Tower Safety Week, which ran from 11-15 November. It held a series of open days at its Northampton headquarters, enabling people to learn about the manufacturing, assembly, and safety aspects of aluminium towers and low level access equipment.

the event was superb as they were able to share ideas with colleagues they don’t meet with very often.” Based on this success, we are now inviting North West Hirers to a meeting on Thursday 28 November from 4.30pm in the Premier Suite at Haydock Park Racecourse. Hire Supply Co. and MHM are sponsoring the event and both are likely to make special offers on their respective equipment available on the evening. By the time you read this, we would have undertaken extensive mailings to hirers within a 30 mile radius of Haydock, but if you would like to attend, simply e-mail ehsteam@executivehireshow.com. We look forward to welcoming you on the 28th.

Award nomination for Supply UK

The Birmingham Aston depot of Supply UK Hire Shops has been announced as the first shortlisted candidate for the 2014 Hire Network Award, which recognises excellent service at individual depot level. Two other finalists will be chosen before the end of the year, with the winner being announced at the Executive Hire Show. Hire Network MD Barry Dean told EHN, “We have been very impressed by the quality of service that the Aston branch has provided. On one particular job recently, when a large quantity of fencing panels and other equipment needed to be collected from a site urgently, the staff acted immediately to get the job done, and their commitment was exceptional.”
