Avants for manoeuvrability

Unlike the rest of its compact wheeled loaders,

Avant Tecno’s recently launched R-Series machines place the operator on the rear portion of the articulated chassis. This is said to make it easier to negotiate tight turns

and to reverse more accurately.

The first two models available are the R28 and R35, which have similar specifications to the existing Avant 528 and 635 machines, with power provided by Kubota diesel engines developing 21kW and 28kW respectively and driving via hydrostatic, four wheel drive transmissions.

JCB reports increasing demand for its 8014, 8016 and 8020 CTS mini excavators, which have respective operating weights of 1634kg, 1657kg and 2067kg. Each model has a stronger kingpost with top-mounted boom ram and steel bushes for durability, and lift capacity, load holding and digging depth have been increased compared with previous models. Tilting cabs facilitate servicing, and solid cast counterweights are incorporated

for improved protection. All three machines have short pitch tracks as standard to enhance operator comfort when travelling. The two smaller excavators have single speed tracking, while the 8020 CTS has twin-speed tracking with automatic kick-down.

Kubota machine pleases hirers

Kubota Construction

says that, following its launch earlier this year, its Kubota’s KX080-4 excavator has quickly proved popular. Over 100 machines have been sold to GAP Group as part of a national exclusivity deal, while orders have also been secured for more than 40 machines that have been sold via Kubota’s dealer network to regional operators. These include ten to Wilmslow Plant Hire through BTE Plant Sales and six to John F Hunt through Hosplant Sales. Designed to meet the Stage IIIB emissions regulations, the KX080-4 is the most powerful in the manufacturer’s range. Offering an operating weight of up to 8.7 tonnes, it is claimed to offer superior digging force compared to its predecessor, partly due to the efficiency of the 4-cylinder Kubota engine, which has direct injection for reduced noise and fuel consumption. A common rail system electronically controls the fuel injection timing and amount in stages for optimum combustion.
