Latest Doosan and Bobcat launches

Doosan group company, Bobcat, has launched two new compact excavators in

the 6-8 tonne weight range. The E62 6 tonne and E85 8 tonne reduced tail swing models replace the former E60 and E80. The smaller machine has a Stage IIIA compliant 36.2 kW Yanmar diesel engine with electronic injection and automatic idle for fuel efficiency. The E85 is powered by a Stage IIIB compliant Yanmar engine providing 44.3kW and meets the emissions requirements by using exhaust gas recirculation and a diesel particulate filter. Both models have upgraded hydraulic systems for higher pressures and flows, to enhance digging and lifting performance. For safety |in lifting

applications, the machines have boom and arm load holding valves and an overload warning device as standard.

Doosan itself has launched a new generation DX85R-3 reduced tail swing excavator to replace the DX80R, and which has also been designed to meet Stage IIIB emissions requirements. The 8 tonne class machine offers a 10% increase in power over its predecessor, together with improved fuel efficiency and greater digging force. It also has a new load sensing system for better hydraulic performance.

Metal Innovations of Cowbridge is introducing a smaller version of a machine it originally developed for the efficient removal of material from coal mines and quarries. Derived from the Celtic Miner CM4500, the CM4500 Compact is approximately one-sixth the weight at just 1 tonne, and measures 2m long by 0.7m and 1.2m high. Various cutting heads and excavator buckets can be mounted on the same chassis, and MD Gareth Thomas believes the machine has hire potential for excavating materials where space is very limited, such as basements, alleyways, sewerage projects and other sites where conventional excavators cannot be swung round to empty the buckets.

Quick extraction with Postpullers

Postpullers UK designs and manufactures machines for the removal of posts and their concrete footings, such as those used with fences and highway barriers posts. The company say the task can be undertaken in less than two minutes without the need for any digging, and that the products require little maintenance. The machines produce more than 4 tonnes of pulling force, with both manual and powered versions available. The Executive Hire Show will see the launch of new additions to the fleet.

Gloucester- based Wheatway Solutions has appointed TCP (Taylor Construction Plant) as a dealer covering the south west of England, Kent, the south Midlands, Suffolk and Norfolk for its Gyru Star screening products. The soil screener attachments incorporate flexible rotating ‘stars’ made of polypropylene to grade site spoil and waste materials into topsoil. They are designed to separate aggregates and vegetation without crushing or shredding, and models are available to fit a wide range of excavators.
