An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Manager at First Great Western


Based at Paddington you will be responsible for the delivery of First Great Western’s services in the Thames valley area. It is a challenging role. Over 100,000 passengers each day will expect outstanding customer service. To succeed you will need to deliver the safe and punctual operation of over 1000 commuter and long distance services calling at 85 stations. The current modernisation of the Great Western involves large scale investment in the network including electrification and the introduction of new trains. Close working with industry partners will be essential to achieve success.


This role requires an outstanding leader with a strong customer service focus. Excellent communications skills are vital as is a passion for delivery, attention to detail and a commitment to high standards. You should have a broad experience of network and train operations.
