ChelaGuard…fully re-furbished

shopper scores display a significant uplift: ‘Eurowash SuperSheen® has successfully met our expectations and scores have improved by up to 57 per cent in a measured quarter,’ according to LU's ambience delivery manager. Eurowash SuperSheen® is now used exclusively on the Bakerloo, Victoria, Central, Waterloo and City and District lines.

Long-term cleanliness Raising standards is something Chela is serious about. Many Chela products seek to not only provide short-term cleaning solutions to specific problems but also improve cleanliness across all surfaces in the long-term.

ChelaGuard® is a unique, high- performance permanent protective treatment that can be applied to all interior and exterior surfaces of a bus, train or coach. Not only does ChelaGuard® leave a high-gloss finish, it also leaves a completely non-porous protective surface. This smooth surface lies over the top of the previously rough peaks and crevices which the dirt could settle in, thereby creating an easy-clean environment which protects the surface by stopping graffiti and other difficult to remove soiling from being able to adhere to the train in the first place.

The product is designed to be used on

almost any non-porous surface, from train exteriors to all interior hard surfaces and problem areas such as train toilets. Once applied, ChelaGuard® will leave a permanent protective finish which will repel all graffiti and difficult to remove soiling. As the train care manager for Chiltern Railways said: ‘ChelaGuard® has allowed our staff the luxury of being able to remove

all types of graffiti with ease by quickly and effortlessly wiping over the offending area with a non-hazardous disposable graffiti wipe.’ What’s more, the easy-clean environment

created substantially decreases cleaning times meaning trains can be out-of-service for less time. And even better, the high-gloss finish ChelaGuard® leaves behind can be used to refresh and renovate tired paint, vinyl and interior surfaces - perfect for C6 refurbishment. ChelaGuard® also provides UV protection and reduces the effects of weathering to ensure surfaces stay fresh and colours remain bright. ChelaGuard® has been evaluated by Eclipse Scientifics and has been tested against all industry fire standards.

Stain removal With trains undergoing extensive use, some stains are unavoidable. Heavy exterior iron staining is a common problem, and the petroleum-based oils and greases used in mass transit can build up quickly and cause trains to appear extremely dirty. This in turn causes problems with customer feedback, with comments about unclean trains a common complaint among rail commuters. In response to this problem, Chela developed Eurowash® ISR Thick. This innovative product is an industry leader for the removal of heavy exterior soiling such as brake dust and iron staining. Eurowash® ISR Thick is widely used throughout the UK rail industry and, thanks to its unique blend of ingredients, removes all brake dust and iron staining quickly and effectively. Eurowash® ISR Thick is ideal for train

exteriors, but what about more porous surfaces? For this, Chela recommends its

award-winning stain treatment BioChela® Digest. This quick-acting treatment uses carefully chosen microorganisms to degrade contamination and inoculate oil and grease stains.

BioChela® Digest is able to penetrate

stains and is particularly effective on porous surfaces such as track ballast, concrete, stone, asphalt and even soil. It starts working as soon as it is applied and keeps working on embedded stains until they are eliminated. Depending on the degree of contamination and the temperature at the time the BioChela® Digest is applied, hydrocarbons will disappear between three days and two weeks, leaving a surface free from grease, oil and diesel.

The contaminant is digested by the microorganisms which are biodegradable, so there is nothing to wash away. This makes the product highly eco-friendly and it has been highly commended in the Environment and Energy Awards. BioChela® Digest has also recently been confirmed as a 2013 Green Apple award winner. Being eco-friendly is something which is

extremely important to Chela. It has a very strict environmental policy which includes the promise that it will continually review the environmental impact of its products. Because it has a dedicated R&D team, Chela clients can be sure it will always supply the best product, not just for its customers but for the environment too.
