Chela is an industrial cleaning chemical manufacturer that is fast becoming a go-to company for all train presentation issues

A

specialist will always do a better job than a generalist, so why choose a general cleaning chemical company to look after the cleanliness of your trains? Instead, why not chose a manufacturer of innovative specialised industrial cleaning chemicals and technical solutions designed specifically to add value to the UK transport industry.

Chela is that company. Established

in 1988 it specialises in solving specific presentation and technical issues within the UK mass transit industry. Current clients include FirstGroup, National Express, Southern, Southeastern, Chiltern Railways, LOROL and TfL.

The company is ISO 9001/14001 accredited and offers a tailored after- sales service plan and training, including the development of structured cleaning schedules to increase staff effectiveness. Based in Enfield, North London, the company is part of the Fisher Darville group

but has its own R&D facilities with three full-time scientists.

Chela offers industry-approved

cleaning solutions and a bespoke product manufacture and design service to address any presentation issues. Tony Philippou, managing director

at Chela, said: ‘From severe iron stains to a difficult graffiti shadow, Chela has the answer. The company also has a strong track record for working closely with its customers to resolve issues as well as a reputation for coming up with innovative solutions. We adopt a partnership approach to problem-solving and technical issues and understanding our client’s problems and requirements is pivotal.’

Eurowash SuperSheen® Eurowash SuperSheen® is a high performance cleaner that gets the exterior of trains clean and keeps them that way. Eurowash SuperSheen® was developed

in response to a request from London Underground's Bakerloo line, which was finding that its mystery shopper scores were consistently low due to the poor cleanliness of rolling stock. Chela employed new technology to create Eurowash SuperSheen®, a mildly alkaline cleaner that imparts a sheen to both paint and glass; that reduces spotting and helps to prevent re-soiling. Not only does Eurowash SuperSheen® remove traffic film, brake dust, dirt and grease from the bodywork but the gloss left behind acts as an easy-clean coating which repels soiling. Unlike most general cleaners, Eurowash SuperSheen® is used at a high dilution rate, making it extremely economical even on heavily-soiled trains. Eurowash SuperSheen® is rail approved and is non-hazardous for transport and usage. London Underground has been using Eurowash SuperSheen® on its Bakerloo line trains since 2009 and has seen its mystery
