Sunday lunch?


At home with a rib of Aberdeen Angus beef from the Paton family at Milton Farm in Fairford. The herds are fed on the meadow grass by the River Coln. Of course, it has to be served with a roasting tin-size Yorkshire pudding.


Quick pint?


Marlborough Arms on Sheep Street in Cirencester fits the bill as a proper pub, with a great selection of British cask ales and ciders that are changed weekly. My summer beer is Budding Pale ale from Stroud Brewery – a really luscious floral pint.


On the go?


It has to be ice cream from Winstones Ice Cream while strolling around Rodborough Common.


Posh nosh?


For a special meal, The Old Passage Inn by the River Severn at Arlingham has great seafood (especially the lobster) and their delicately crafted desserts are always a must. The Lords of the Manor in Upper Slaughter is perfect for an extra special occasion too, with their amazing cheese trolley of 20 British cheeses – heaven.


With the family?


A nice picnic out on Minchinhampton Common with some Woefuldane cheese, some Hobbs House bread, Native Breeds charcuterie and Day’s Cottage apple juice.


A lovely cuppa?


The Kitchen in Minchinhampton is what you hope all Cotswolds village tearooms will be like. It’s chocolate- box pretty, has great homemade cakes and a broad range of teas.


Hidden gem?


Friday nights at Stroud Brewery has a great community atmosphere for foodies, beer lovers and local artisans; it has musicians, wood-fired pizzas and lots of beer tasting.


Breakfast?


Eggs Norwegian at Somewhere Else on Castle Street in Cirencester – soft, white toasted muffin, soft-poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon.


Cheeky cocktail?


Soho Bar in Cheltenham. My summer cocktail is an Elderflower Gin.


Comfort food?


Both my parents were chefs, so every Monday night is family pasta night at my parents’. My father’s secret tomato pasta sauce is the life-blood of the D’Elia family. Colder winter nights are banished by real comfort food with my mother’s beef stew and fluffy suet dumplings.


With friends?


Bistrot Coco on Cambray Place in Cheltenham has delicious classic French food if we’re in the mood to eat, and a great cocktail bar for the rest of the night.
