Those Fabulous Baker Brothers might have gained celebrity status last year, thanks to their successful TV series and


accompanying recipe books, but their family business, Hobbs House, was famous in the Cotswolds long before these boys were even out of nappies. The original bakery was opened by


David Herbert (grandfather to Tom and Henry) in Bristol, and since then four more Hobbs House bakeries


have opened (in Chipping Sodbury, Cirencester, Nailsworth and Tetbury) as the business continues to expand and diversify. In 2011 the Hobbs House butchery opened next door to the bakery in Chipping Sodbury, there’s also a café, and – since the spring of this year – there is now a cookery school in the old family home upstairs. It’s here, in the Herbert family’s


latest venture, that you’ll find classes in everything from knife skills and sausage making to chocolate workshops and bread making. Tom
